On this page you can locate opportunities in Coram Deo, whether part-time, full time, honorarium based, volunteer work. We really need a great number more of hands on deck and urge students to consider volunteering (other than, of course, those not marked as volunteer work).
Employment: Employment relates to full or part time but permanent work that accommodates leave is subject to annual increase and a bonus (based on what the company can afford). Under certain conditions the work could also be contracted work rather than employment.
Honorarium: Often a gratuity payment for a service. The person could be a volunteer but where the scope of work is of critical importance at that time. It could be someone who wants to give back to the community where in the open market they would have been remunerated much more. It could be a professional person and service the organisation would never be able to afford. Or it could simply be a thank you (not necessarily in financial terms) where the person involved does not want to be remunerated.
Contracted / freelance: A specific job or area of tasks are assigned. Open to annual increase (not automatic), depending on the negotiation between the parties. Not regarded as employment and therefore work hours not determined by organisation but agreed as a matter of curtesy in view of clients. Take as much leave as the contractor wants but also agreed as a matter of curtesy between the parties in view clients.
Volunteer: Unpaid involvement in an organisation or project based on one’s passion for a cause. Tasks and time are agreed between the parties. The volunteers as seen as valuable contributors to what makes the organisation achieve its non-profit mission.
Extended volunteer prospectus
The current prospectus is not up to date, but would still be relevant. For any questions contact Wilanda. There are also several WhatsApp groups in our ‘Coram Deo Community’ indicating where community members can get involved.
