Supervision 2024 Orientation

Introduction

Welcome to the supervision programme of 2024. This lesson offers a basic orientation and is only available online. The next lesson will be the first official supervision meetup during which also a recording of the orientation is give.

Supervision students are enrolled for either only supervision or as intended the combined practitioner programmes which ads the continued professional development short courses (CPD). Both these have separate learning groups on this website that allows for more dynamic communication. Do engage each other on the learning groups. These lessons however, which together is also an online course facilitates the actual learning. This is where the recordings are embedded. Unless stated otherwise like for this lesson, usually each lesson corresponds with a live class meetup. Where relevant preparation material and presentations are also included in the lessons. For both the supervision and the CPD group there are dashboards that contain the essential less dynamic information. This includes schedules, dates, attendance register links (also embedded in WhatsApp) and relevant links. Perhaps the most dynamic type of platform is the WhatsApp groups (more on the dashboard). Email is used sometimes, especially leading up to CPD short courses (but info is always firstly posted to the learning groups).

Often lessons offer a space to reflect through forums. Lecturers sometimes request students to reflect but students are encouraged to use the space provided and do so in any case. For students who miss live meetups, the reflection is very important.

The essence of the supervision journey is built around the document pack. The various documents are filled out in the process of seeing clients and engaging supervisors. A separate course (like this one) will give more detail on each document though they are mostly self explanatory. Yet in the course students can ask questions about the specific document which will help clarify the document.
